It beggars belief to think that we're already in April. Not long ago we were making plans for things to be done in the first month of 2012, and where did that one go? And the other two?
Anyway, here we are, and as a colleague from the Library said, "the situation is very fluid". She was trying, I think, to help me make up my mind and go for a new job within the Library, one that in slightly different circumstances would have been close to ideal. I'm not convinced, though, that the time is right. Nor that I'm ready to move into the office full time and relinquish the hustle and bustle that's been keeping me awake at night, and entertained no end during the day. It's like a tide... it comes and goes, and right now it looks like it's time to swim, not to let oneself go.
This fluid situation will see me meeting again with an old acquaintance. A tie. Yes, tomorrow I'll have job interviews, but this time I'll be on the other side of the table. We'll see how that goes, but it should be interesting.
In the meantime, Spring has come in full force and for the last 10 days we've almost constantly had the sun keeping us company. The only one day Lorenzo deserted us was on Saturday, when I had tickets to go to see Fulham vs. Norwich City at Craven Cottage. Not the best day to be in a stadium right next to the river, but what can you do.
I was planning on cheering Fulham, but we ended up in the away end, and I enjoyed massively the chants of "Come on you Yellows!", "Come on City!" and "We'll sing on our own, we'll sing on our own, we're Norwich City, we'll sing on our own". Fulham's supporters, as seems to be the case with most home supporters in this country, were largely anonymous, but their team still won 2-1 on the day.
And of course, I couldn't leave the stadium without first finding the most weird of homages in sports grounds in these parts: Michael Jackson's statue! This is really bizarre.
Weekly pints count: 0
Another abstemious week, except for the red wine I used for cooking.
